Moss Easter Wreath DIY Recipe

Equipment

  • Zip ties

Materials

  • 1 20-inch moss wreath base
  • 2 floral sprays
  • 2 sprays with Easter decor
  • 2 sprays with pom poms
  • 1.5-inch wired Easter ribbon
  • 1-inch wired Easter ribbon

Instructions

  • Spread your floral sprays by pulling the branches of your sprays apart and give them some life.
  • Create two bundles by layering one of each of your different sprays, with the floral spray on the bottom layer. Make sure all of the centers of the sprays are touching. Then zip tie the sprays together at the stems, using two zip ties. Each bundle will have three different sprays
  • Zip tie your bundles together, side by side, with stems in the middle and the sprays facing outward – kind of like a bowtie. You want the bundles to be as close to each other in the middle as possible, so you don’t see the stems. Zip tie the stems of the two bundles together in the middle and on either ends of the stems.
  • Make two Easter bows by pinching, twisting and looping. The first will have three, 7-inch loops on each side. Twist a pipe cleaner around the center of the bow. Leave enough ribbon on both ends for 28-inch tails. 
  • Make a second bow with one 4.5-inch center loop, then two 5.5-inch loops on both sides and 28-inch tails.
  • Layer the bows to make one big bow by laying the smaller bow on top of the larger one and twisting the pipe cleaner around the center to secure the two together. Dovetail the ends of the tails.
  • Attach your bow to your bundle using the pipe cleaner that secured the bows. Twist it around the stems tightly and cut off the excess pipe cleaner.
  • Attach your bundle to the moss base using thin wire on either side of the stem spine on the back of the bundle. Slide the wire through your bundle and around the full wreath base, twist it nice and tight to secure it, then clip off any excess wire. 
  • Clean up your design by moving around the branches, pulling on the bow loops and trimming any long or stray pieces. Cut your bow tails to the length you want and shape your sprays to take more of the wreath’s shape.
